FDA Helping to Cut Sugar Intake

The FDA is set to enact a proposal that would require packaged foods to include the added sugars they contain. Currently the labels only show total sugars in a given product which includes those naturally found in fruits. In addition, the proposal stipulates a limit to added sugars at 10% of daily intake (50 grams), the equivalent of one soda. The benefit of the proposal would lead to less wasted calories and healthier diets for all Americans. At #Flex5, we believe moderation is the key to a healthy diet and assist our clients with customized nutrition plans that fit their needs. #BeTheChange
