Water is an essential part of life and without it you can forget about staying healthy, much less surviving for more than a couple of days. That is what makes the story of Flint, Michigan’s poisoned water so tragic. In times of crisis however, there are opportunities to work together to find solutions. With the massive attention Flint has gained over the past few weeks, many have donated bottled water and money to aid those in the city, but even more amazing is that over 300 plumbers volunteered their time and skills to replace faucets and install water filters in all home affected by the crisis.
