ABOUT DR. SCHROEDER
Dr. Schroeder has a unique background. Her first career choice was working as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse for six years before deciding to enter the chiropractic field. Working as a PICU nurse, she became frustrated that she couldn’t do more to help her patients at times. A lower back injury landed her in a chiropractor’s office, and immediately she knew she had found her calling. Within one year she was back in school, eager to be able to help patients using only her hands to correct their problems, not just mask their symptoms.
Dr. Schroeder has been on the other side- as a patient, debilitated by lower back and neck pain, and wanting answers! She understands how frustrating it can be to see provider after provider and still not have a solution to your problems. Many people find Dr. Schroeder after already trying many other medical providers and are excited to learn that there is hope for them, and that they don’t have to suffer any longer. If Dr. Schroeder can’t help you she will be the first to refer you to another provider.
Dr. Schroeder studied chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California, graduating as class salutatorian with magna cum laude honors. Dr. Schroeder was an active member of the Sports Council Program, where she was able to treat a variety of athletes around the Bay Area of California. She treated ultra-marathon runners and rugby players, to motocross athletes and weekend warriors. It was here that she fine-tuned her skills to help athletes maximize performance while minimizing injury.
Dr. Schroeder has spent time working in private practices and at a Veteran's Affairs clinic as a chiropractor. Her passion is empowering her patients to take their health into their own hands to improve their quality of life.
In her spare time, Dr. Schroeder loves traveling and spending time outdoors, including hiking, biking, running and snowboarding. She also enjoys crossfit and yoga classes. She has competed in a number of athletic races, including Half Marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks and a Spartan Beast Race.

Chiropractic Care: offers a safe and effective way to provide relief for many types of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches and many more! Pain relief and injury prevention are two of the reasons that chiropractic services have become so popular, both around Charlotte and all over the world. Whether you are an athlete looking to improve your performance, an employee who is tired from sitting all day or a mom hoping to keep up with her kids without pain, we are here to help.
Chiropractic Adjustment, or a manipulation, is a therapeutic procedure aimed at restoring motion to a joint that has become restricted due to tissue injury. Tissues are often injured from a traumatic event, like a car accident or a sports injury, or from slumped posture while sitting at the computer or even from lifting improperly. When tissues are injured, they undergo physical and chemical changes that create pain and inflammation, which leads to a decreased function. Manipulation of an involved joint helps to restore normal motion, break up scar tissue and decrease muscle tension and tightness to help with the healing process.
Chiropractic Care For Pregnancy: Chiropractic care during pregnancy and post-partum are vital in maintaining a woman's health and vitality. Dr. Schroeder is certified in the Webster Technique, which focuses on maintaining the mother's pelvic alignment and nervous system function. This in turn balances pelvic muscles and ligaments, which reduces torsion to the uterus. Chiropractic care is effective in treating pregnancy related lower back complaints, as well as complaints in the neck, mid back, headaches, leg and hip pain and ligament/muscle related discomfort. The following are additional possible benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy and post-partum: decreased soreness, improved posture, optimal fetal positioning, shorter labor and delivery time, reduced risk of breech baby, reduced risk of C-Section, easier recovery post-partum
Sports Injury Management: Sprains, strains and repetitive injuries like golfer's elbow and Achilles tendonitis are all common sources of pain for athletes. If you have sustained an injury and don't allow adequate time for it to heal before you resume your sport or begin competing, you could be causing additional damage leading to more pain and dysfunction. Muscular pain and tightness can delay healing and cause more pain, so that is why it is so important to seek chiropractic care for sports injuries. At ProMotion Chiropractic, we offer chiropractic adjustments of the spine and extremities, soft tissue work and therapeutic exercises designed to stabilize your muscles and restore range of motion.
IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization): IASTM is a type of manual soft-tissue technique invented by an athlete named David Graston. David had sustained a knee injury while water skiing, and his healing was delayed which forced him to think of other ways to could help himself to recover and get back to his sport. He designed a set of tools to assist with his rehab that followed a cross-friction type of massage that was already being used on him. IASTM is popular among amateur and professional sports alike. It is been found to decrease treatment time needed, as well as reduce a patient's need to take NSAID medication. IASTM works by breaking up scar tissue and adhesions that have formed from soft tissue injury, as well as by increasing local circulation, decreasing muscular tension, and speeding up the healing process.
Wellness Care: Experience more than just pain relief. Regular chiropractic care should be like going to the dentist to keep your teeth healthy, or going to the gym to keep in shape, or even eating healthy to prevent disease. Being healthy requires a combination of moving well, eating well, thinking well and taking care of your spine. Most of our patients realize the value of incorporating regular chiropractic treatments as a part of their wellness routine.
Deep Tissue Laser (K-Laser): K-Laser Class IV therapeutic lasers deliver specific red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light to induce a photochemical reaction and therapeutic effect. Physiological effects include increased circulation, reduced inflammation, pain reduction and enhanced tissue healing.
Sports Performance: Did you know that all 32 NFL teams have chiropractors as a part of their staff? Did you know that chiropractors have been used for years in the Olympics? Unfortunately, injuries are a part of the risk that athletes take when competing, especially at the Olympic level. Many athletes choose to use regular chiropractic care as a part of their routine in keeping healthy and preventing injury. Athletes report that chiropractic care not only helped their injuries heal faster, but it also helped to increase their peak performance during competition.
Corrective Exercise: Corrective exercise helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. At ProMotion Chiropractic, we maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease by incorporating chiropractic care, specific exercises and stretches as well as education. The goal of incorporating corrective exercises with chiropractic care is to maximize your range of motion while increasing your stability, strength, coordination and recovery time.
