In the Summer of 2015, a refugee by the name of Abdul Attar was captured in a photo holding his sleeping daughter. As a refugee Abdul struggled to provide for his daughter, which is why he resulted to selling the only thing he could get his hands on – ballpoint pens. After gaining generous attention from around the world, a crowdfunding campaign set up on his behalf garnered over $190,000 allowing him to set up three separate businesses, hiring a total of 16 other refugees in the process. Furthermore, after getting back on his feet after such a rapid transition, Abdul has been generous enough to donate $25,000 to friends and family back home in Syria. #BeTheChange #Flex5
